There are many stories of the Vietnam war, including many personal stories here at Patriot Features. At their core, all are service stories, true tales of serving others, our Nation, comrades, even the populations of countries in which Americans have been sent to do battle. An important service story among the many, and some would argue even the most important service, is the story of serving the spiritual needs of our men and women in uniform. The Bible, in Ecclesiastes 3:11, states that God has set eternity in the human heart. Fundamentally, this describes the universal human desire to worship something greater than ourselves. It's this spiritual need, especially for men and women in combat, that make the chaplaincy of the US military as vital as bullets and bombs.
This is: "Swift, a service story".
