It has been said before but bears repeating...again and again: The WWII generation has given us some of the finest examples of Patriots in the history of this nation. Bob Gaughan certainly belongs in that group. At a time when the US military was taking any able bodies, he had to fight to get in the service. Working for TWA airline, who was heavily engaged in the war effort, Bob was told he was needed where he was. Upon seeing his buddies join, serve, and even be killed, he knew he must go. And go he did...later involved in some of the most famous battle events of WWII Europe.
