– Bob Regan
Courage seems a good word to describe many things that took place in the Vietnam conflict, and "courageous" an apt moniker for many who served there. In one story, helicopter pilot veteran Bob Regan describes transferring to a gunship platoon for the purpose of being able to "shoot back". This of course highlights the work of the platoon he had already served with, the (largely unarmed) "Gangbusters", who's task it was to transport forces into and out of hostile areas, and serve as 'bait' to draw fire, allowing the supporting gunships to engage the enemy. Courage.
