Almost to a person, every veteran of that great conflict, home and abroad, speaks in humble, hushed tones of their efforts, seen as heroic by us, but not by them. How refreshing in the world we live in, to learn about self-sacrifice, humility, and gratitude from this generation that frankly accomplished remarkable things. And lived through stories many of us only read about. Oh, and Burt's Jimmy Stewart connection is pretty fun as well.
