Bio
- Name: Dorothy Mulford
- Age: 98yrs.
- Service Period: WWII
- Branch: US Navy
- Introduction:
"I don't think I'm great. But I think everybody else was. Four college friends that are still buried in the USS Arizona in Pearl Harbor for instance. I'm most proud of the fact that I was able to contribute to a concerted effort to conquer evil. And it was evil."
– Dorothy Mulford
And that's why we refer to them as the "Greatest Generation". After graduating college, earning her private pilot certification, and working at Pratt Whitney (where engines were produced for America's war machine), Dorothy met her future husband Lynn, who subsequently left for Europe to fly C-47 troop transports (including D-Day). He was overseas, it was time to leave home, so Dorothy joined the Navy Waves, never sorry for her decision. Typical of so many of that generation, Dorothy and Lynn served their country in its time of great need, then helped build a new future...for both their family and the Nation.
This is: "Mulford, a service story".
