- Introduction:
"We were young...lives were lost...but freedom was retained." - John Atkins
Many don't realize, or have simply forgotten, that the Korean War took place only five short years after WWII. Though there were WWII veterans who also served in Korea, lives lost in war still primarily belong to the young. Remarkably, this 'forgotten war', and the young who fought in it, stays in the national conscience as a divided Korea remains a factor on the world stage. Those young men assured freedom for all those living in South Korea today.
