- Introduction:
"You don't fly airplanes for more than 50 years and not have anything go wrong. There's no doubt about the fact that I have an angel on my shoulder, keeping me safe, because some of the things are just unexplainable that have happened to me in the course of my life."
– John Wittenborn
Prolific would be a great word to describe John Wittenborn. Learning to fly in college, then teaching other students to fly, followed by joining the Air Force Reserve for a 27 year career, which included flights all over the world and combat in the Gulf War, all while flying a full-time career with several major airlines, then turning his focus to volunteering through flight as a pilot with the Commemorative Air Force. Tired yet? John's not. And he may just be getting started.
This is: "Wittenborn, a service story".
